Welcome You are not currently logged in. Where Generations of Workers Stand United
For decades, California’s labor movement has been shaped by the strength, resilience, and unity of workers who dared to demand better—for themselves, their families, and their communities. AFSCME Local 1902 proudly carries that torch today.
We are more than just a union—we are a brotherhood and sisterhood of dedicated public servants who ensure Southern California’s water keeps flowing. From the valleys of Kern County to the shores of the Pacific, from the heart of San Diego to the borders of Nevada and Arizona, our members keep vital systems running, protect public resources, and uphold the values that built this state.
When you join Local 1902, you're never alone. You’re part of a legacy—of action, of dignity, of progress. You’re backed by the collective power of AFSCME, a union that’s fought for working people for over a century. Here, your voice matters. Your work matters. And together, we make sure it’s respected.
Stand with us. Build with us. Belong with us.
AFSCME Local 1902: The Workers Behind Southern California’s Water Systems

Together, we support the delivery of clean, safe, and affordable water to millions of residents and businesses across Southern California.
If you’re an employee of a water district we represent, you are already part of the work that powers our communities. Now, we invite you to stand with your coworkers as a union member—because when we stand together, we build power, protect our rights, and shape our future.
